What's in a name?

Coconut Conctracting was founded in 2010. When starting a new company, coming up with a memorable name is essential. Also, quite difficult. Back in 2010, Rob's second son was 2 years old. He was called "Coconut" as a little boy. After weeks of trying to come up with a family oriented name, we settled on Coconut Contracting.

Now, as this new website is built in 2026, our company namesake is in college. Time flies!

Meet the Team

Rob Gruber

Owner - general manager

Since graduating from ASU’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design in 1995, Rob has been creating and maintaining some of the Valley’s most spectacular residential and commercial landscapes. Rob is also certified as a Master Gardener by the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension. He is a rainwater collector, composter and avid home gardener.

Jackie Cruz

office manager

Jackie is responsible for all the accounting and invoicing side of the company. She is vital to the company's success. She helps Rob and Clemente manage the crews and the scheduling. If you ever call into the office, Jackie will be on the other end. Be sure to say hello!

Clemente Diaz

Personnel/field manager

Clemente oversees the three crew leaders. He makes sure they have everything they need to get things done during their busy days. If you ever have any repairs that get scheduled with us, Clemente will most likely be the person who shows up to make the repair for you.
